The Role

We are looking to fill a key vacancy in our Emergency Management Office based in Palmerston North. Reporting to the Manager Emergency Management, you will have a wide range of responsibilities to support the administration and delivery of the associated outputs of the Emergency Management Office.

In this Response role you’ll contribute to the Civil Defence Emergency Management Group outputs by leading and coordinating the Emergency Management Response activities of the Group Office. You’ll also have a strong focus on delivering the appropriate capability for the successful operation of the Group Emergency Coordination Centre, as well as ensuring Horizons Regional Council (Horizons) meets its operational Marine Oil Spill and Navigation Safety requirements.

About you

If you have had hands on experience of operating in an emergency management environment and delivering on key emergency management related outputs, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for a confident and experienced team player with a can-do-attitude for this pivotal role in our Emergency Management Office. You’ll have excellent relationship management skills and relevant industry experience, be able to take a big picture view to coordinate and manage key services and work-streams. With your experience, knowledge and/or qualifications and drive you’ll play a key role in supporting, managing, and delivering the outputs of the Emergency Management Office.
