The role  

Are you looking to start in a role that makes a real difference to our regions biosecurity and biodiversity? Do you enjoy working outdoors and already have some of the practical skills or rural experience that we can develop in this role? 

We are wanting applications from an enthusiastic, motivated person to work as a Regional Response Officer based from our Woodville Service Centre who will carry out animal pest control work. This position will work predominately throughout the Manawatu and Tararua Districts. Although this is a skilled role we are open to considering someone more junior who has the right personality and drive to learn and develop a wider set of skills and knowledge as part of our team.

About you 

Successful applicants will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Experience in possum and pest animal control 
  • Good communication skills and experience in working with landowners
  • Full Drivers licence
  • Hold or willingness to obtain a Controlled Substance and Firearms Licence 
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • The love and ability to work outdoors 
  • Experience with four-wheel drive vehicles and quads is essential.
