Horizons Regional Council is offering a fabulous opportunity to shape and coordinate our policy change programme which is being driven by national policy direction and regional policy requirements.
The Policy Programme Lead will need to bring relational, strategic, planning and project management skills to develop efficient and effective implementation programmes and ensure our organisation is at the forefront of change.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing project plans to coordinate our environmental policy change programme, coordinating communications and project meetings, preparing reports, presentations and plans, delivering presentations, establishing governance structures, ongoing project management including delivery of key milestones within agreed timeframes, allocating tasks, managing risks, monitoring progress and regular reporting. You will need a good understanding of resource management policy and planning requirements.
This role will enable you to demonstrate leadership skills and further leadership opportunities are potentially available.
Have you been involved in policy development or implementation roles and are now wanting to step up into planning and coordinating the delivery of policy programmes instead of doing them? If so, this is the role for you.
You will have expert knowledge of policy development and resource management processes, be highly organised, able to deliver effective project management practices and be proficient in common digital tools and platforms.
You will be someone who is highly organised, strategic and creative, is able to manage multi-projects on the go, with strong interpersonal skills to bring teams of people together, is self-motivated, self-managing and a problem-solver.
A relevant tertiary qualification as well as certification in project management is desirable, as well as experience delivering projects.
Experience working in local or central government would be advantageous.
