The role 

Are you looking for a role that makes a real difference to our regions biosecurity and biodiversity? Do you enjoy working outdoors and already have the practical skills that we need in this role? We are seeking applications from an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as a Regional Response Officer to carry out animal pest control work. This is a permanent, full time position, based from our Marton Service Centre and will work predominately throughout the Manawatū, Rangitikei and Horowhenua Districts.

About you 

Successful applicants will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Experience with quads on steep hill country and appropriate accreditation
  • Good communication skills and experience in working with rural landowners
  • Experience in possum/pest animal control 
  • Full Class 1 driver's licence
  • Hold a Controlled Substance and Firearms Licence or the ability to obtain one 
  • Enjoy working as part of a team 
  • The love and ability to work outdoors 
  • Able to work alone safely in remote and difficult terrain.
