The role  

Local government is changing. At Horizons Regional Council, we are working to ensure that our organisation is fit for the future and positioned to deliver the services our communities will need. To this end, Horizons has established a Future Fit programme driven by the Executive Leadership group and supported by a small Transition team including a Business Transition Lead, a Principal Advisor – Strategy and this Change Lead role.

This role will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating relevant people change strategies associated with this programme, while facilitating a collaborative approach to change, and building ownership and capability in the change leadership. 

While reporting to the People & Capability Manager, you will be accountable to and work closely with the senior leadership team and transition team to lead, facilitate and implement a collaborative and consistent change management plan across the organisation.  This is a fixed term role until December 2025.

You will have a proven ability to deliver cross-organisational people change programmes, foresee obstacles, and problem solve to get things done. You will have transferable skills to maintain productive working relationships, manage a busy work programme and achieve results.
